FAQ

Kids Academy

Will my child become aggressive if he or she participates in martial arts?

Respect and discipline

Training at Sparta Academy teaches social skills and important core values such as respect, decency, discipline and fair play. Regular training sustainably strengthens self-confidence and contributes positively to the child’s development. Violence prevention is a central part of the training, kickboxing and judo techniques may only be used for self-defense or in sporting competition. The children also transfer our values to everyday life and learn to deal with their urge to move.

My child is not particularly athletic, now what?

Practice makes perfect

The regular training strengthens endurance, strength and condition. We train playfully and slowly approach the techniques. With time, positive changes can be seen and in martial arts you can usually set your own pace well.

In martial arts, the self-confidence of EVERY child is strengthened, the coaches respond individually to the needs of the children and in each training you achieve a sense of achievement. At the Kids Show exam, the kids will take an exam once a year and so far everyone has always passed with flying colors and received a medal and a diploma.

Is my child at risk of suffering head blows during training?

Concentration

No, we don’t practice head banging.

The training always starts with a warm-up phase (stretching, strength, endurance and coordination exercises). Afterwards the technique is worked on in a very controlled way, boxing and kicking in the air (shadow boxing), against punching bags or into pads, which are held by a training partner. Pratzen are like “pillows”, which you can tie around your hand or arm. Concentration is very important here, because you have to work in a controlled, targeted and nice and loose way. Fun must not be neglected in the training, the training is always rounded off with a game.

My child already plays a team sport and can only practice once a week

At the Sparta Kids Academy, you sign up for the training sessions you want to attend. This ensures the quality of the training. If you can only come to the training once a week, you pay less membership fee.

Martial arts is about your own development and not about winning an entire team.
